Background and Experience

Jennifer Yap, M.D. finished her undergraduate studies at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. She felt that a significant source of disease in America was obesity and improper diet and then went on to Columbia University’s Institute of Human Nutrition Graduate School to understand how to tackle this issue. Doctor Yap soon after completed her Masters Degree in Public Health with a focus on wellness and prevention from Columbia University in New York.

Inspired to treat people on an individual basis, Doctor Yap decided to pursue medical school at the University of New England so that she could take a holistic approach to medicine. She finished her residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and she now uses her knowledge of exercise and movement along with nutrition to treat patients with musculoskeletal disorders. In addition, Doctor Yap has had extensive training in lasers, skin care, obesity management, Botox, and fillers.
