Cynthia Olson, M.D. – Ascentia Wellness Clinic

Dr. Cynthia Olson is a graduate of the University of Alberta Medical School, and she did a 2 year Family Medicine Residency and has been practicing Family Medicine for over 15 yrs. She became interested in Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy when she found so many of her patients were feeling fatigued, weak, and generally unwell due to hormonal imbalances. This led her on a search for an answer to this dilemma for both patient and physician. She had an opportunity to spend a lot of time researching, reading, and learning about Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy, and she has become very excited about having found this, both well researched and yet cutting-edge therapy. She has extensive experience in the clinical practice of Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy, and as an Alberta Bioidentical Doctor, she is happy to say, she receives immense satisfaction from the increase in the quality of life this therapy brings to her patients.

Background and Experience

At the Ascentia Wellness Clinic, the staff has worked hard to bring patients a program that is tailored to help them become the healthiest they can be, for the longest possible time on an individual basis. People are not all created with the same metabolism, rate of aging, or response to physical or psychological stressors. Many people in their late thirties and early forties notice that they progressively begin to lose their vitality, enjoyment of life, and energy. They may notice that they catch more “bugs”, and injure themselves more easily, or don’t recuperate as quickly as they once did. Both men and women suffer from anxiety, depression, decreasing libido, and motivation. Women most often start to have irregular and more painful menses, irritability, weight gain, bloating, and even hot flashes before menopause. These are the symptoms that herald a decrease in hormones that can go on to become severely debilitating, as time goes on. Doctor Olson’s goal is to restore patient’s hormones to a healthy and safe level, which will have them feeling like themselves again.
