Background & Experience

Dr. Michael Citron has been practicing medicine for over 30 years, and he is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine, while being specialty trained in functional medicine. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1979 with a Masters in Microbiology and Immunology. Dr. Citron then earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine in 1984, and he completed his residency from 1984 to 1986. Dr. Citron completed Functional Medicine Training with the Institute for Functional Medicine. For the last two years, he has been offering bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, and he fellowship trained at A4M. Some of Dr. Citron’s specialties include bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, non-statin cholesterol management, basic health optimization, HPA Axis dysfunction, adrenal fatigue, methylation SNP evaluation and methylation dysfunction management, targeted nutritional therapy and dietary management, weight management, gut dysbiosis and leaky gut, SIBO, and cardiovascular risk reduction.
